Teacher in the Kitchen ~ 6.23.15

So today I am linking up with Not Very Fancy in 1st for my first time.
I am so excited about this linky!  One of my goals this summer is self improvement. This is an area I need a ton of improving in!

OK~ I must start by saying I do not cook well and my family does not eat everything I make. (If my friends see this post they will be on the ground laughing hysterically.)

So what is a girl to do???
Turn to PINTEREST!

Here is my attempt at cooking.  Gotta start somewhere ...

Pin from Pinterest ... I am sure you have seen this but have you tried it?
Melt a stick of butter in the pan. Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning. Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min. Best Shrimp you will EVER taste:)Easy recipe with shrimp

This is how the recipe under the picture read:
"Melt a stick of butter in the pan. Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning. Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min. Best Shrimp you will EVER taste:)Easy recipe with shrimp"

That last part had me wanting to give it a try!

OK~ Here is what I did ...
1 pound of USA shrimp
2 lemons
1 1/2 sticks of butter
Dried Italian Seasoning
The rest was the same!
Here are my pictures:
1st I cut up a stick of butter and laid it out on a baking sheet. Into the oven to melt.

While 1 stick of butter was melting at the bottom of the pan in the oven, I sliced my lemons.
So pretty and yellow! They coordinate with the logo!

Then I layered the baking sheet with the lemons, then the shrimp, and topped it off with the dried Italian seasoning.

But wait ... I thought it needed more butter ... I love butter!
So I added 1/2 a stick more on top.

Popped it in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes and PRESTO the main course is done! Looks good right ...
I wish I could add a scratch and sniff to the picture ... YUM!
One of my goals this summer is to practice several meals that I can make quick for those late nights at school.
This one is going to be on that list!!!
I can't wait to try something new tomorrow.

Until next time ... Have a HAPPY week!
