Monday Made It~ 6.28.15

Hello, Friends!
It is Monday and it is time to link up with Tara from

I saw this on melancholy smile's blog and I love it!!!
I wanted to make one for our family, too.  So I did!

Here is my take on the door hanger to let the neighborhood friends know if it is a good time to play.
(Our logo will not be on the top of the freebie!)
Click on the picture to grab it!
I ran out of ink when I went to print mine ...
I can't wait to print mine this week!

The next project I have been putting off for a few weeks.
Time to check it off!
I really needed to paint and freshen up my mailboxes!

Here is a picture of what it looked like before the make-over.
A HOT mess!

Now here are the steps to making it fresh and new...

First, I painted the inside with a less expensive paint.

Then, I painted the exterior.  As the paint dries you see spots that soak in on the cardboard so you will need to touch those up.

Next, I cut 24 sheets of scrapbooking paper to go in each hole. I may go back and laminate them when I get back to work, but I wanted to finish it to show it off.

Finally, I put all of the plastic supports back on each shelf.
These also help hold the paper in place.

Now all I need to do is add the numbers I made last week and it is ready to put back in the classroom when we can get in!
I will add that picture when I find them.  LOL!

The last items I have completed are requests for products.
We love taking requests! It is so nice to give the customer what they want! They are ready for purchase!

Whatever Wednesday: GoNoodle ~ Classroom Brain Breaks

Hello, Friend!

Do you like GoNoodle?
I absolutely LOVE GoNoodle!!!
It really gets your kids moving!
Brain Breaks are great for everyone including the teacher.  The kids love to see you taking part and getting moving.

At the bottom is a link to vote for a meet-up at a city near you  ... make sure you vote!  If you are not interested in going, vote for Austin for me.

Here is their logo, you can click on it to get to their site. Once there, sign up for a free account.  I have one for home and one for school so my kids can test out different ones and they can access it on their own.
You can even find them on YouTube:

Two of My favorites:

My kids LOVED!

GoNoodle is great as an incentive for kiddos to work a little harder, perfect for indoor recess instead of sitting and watching a movie, and "Airtime" is a great calming GoNoodle activity!

Here are a couple of tutorials for getting started:

Now, click on the picture below to vote for a city by you or ...vote for Austin for me!  I am dying to go!!!
I hope to meet you at a Meet-up!
Have a very HAPPY and fun week!

Teacher in the Kitchen ~ 6.23.15

So today I am linking up with Not Very Fancy in 1st for my first time.
I am so excited about this linky!  One of my goals this summer is self improvement. This is an area I need a ton of improving in!

OK~ I must start by saying I do not cook well and my family does not eat everything I make. (If my friends see this post they will be on the ground laughing hysterically.)

So what is a girl to do???
Turn to PINTEREST!

Here is my attempt at cooking.  Gotta start somewhere ...

Pin from Pinterest ... I am sure you have seen this but have you tried it?
Melt a stick of butter in the pan. Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning. Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min. Best Shrimp you will EVER taste:)Easy recipe with shrimp
Picture and recipe by: PositiveMed
This is how the recipe under the picture read:
"Melt a stick of butter in the pan. Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning. Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min. Best Shrimp you will EVER taste:)Easy recipe with shrimp"

That last part had me wanting to give it a try!

OK~ Here is what I did ...
1 pound of USA shrimp
2 lemons
1 1/2 sticks of butter
Dried Italian Seasoning
The rest was the same!
Here are my pictures:
1st I cut up a stick of butter and laid it out on a baking sheet. Into the oven to melt.

While 1 stick of butter was melting at the bottom of the pan in the oven, I sliced my lemons.
So pretty and yellow! They coordinate with the logo!

Then I layered the baking sheet with the lemons, then the shrimp, and topped it off with the dried Italian seasoning.

But wait ... I thought it needed more butter ... I love butter!
So I added 1/2 a stick more on top.

Popped it in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes and PRESTO the main course is done! Looks good right ...
I wish I could add a scratch and sniff to the picture ... YUM!
One of my goals this summer is to practice several meals that I can make quick for those late nights at school.
This one is going to be on that list!!!
I can't wait to try something new tomorrow.

Until next time ... Have a HAPPY week!

Well I am on week #2 of the challenge and is is called:
"Dare to Dream!"

Dare to Dream … I have a dream!

I have several dreams but I am going to focus of four today.

Supplement my income: Like many of us who started selling on TpT we were just trying to earn extra money for our family doing something that makes us happy!  I love creating and if it helps my family make our ends meet, I’m in!  I also LOVE that teachers around the world are interested and using materials that I have made. That right there is a HUGE compliment! So the supplement of income and sharing are my number one reasons for becoming a TpT seller!  It would be AMAZING to work on the store more often but I don't think I would want to leave teaching. I love those kids too much!

Fix up my house: Some of my readers know that a few years ago our house flooded 3 times from broken pipes under the foundation… You would think it is all an easy fix, but it has really been a long road to get it all under control and get our house back on track. I dream of not worrying if  will be walking in water.  We are still living on concrete floors as we make decisions of what to put down and save the money for it.  We also had a patio covering collapse in Hurricane Ike.  I would love to rebuild it!

Do something AMAZING for my parents: My parents have been there every step of the way.  They always have supported me both financially and emotionally!  I would love to give them a trip that they would enjoy. My sister in law gave her parents a trip to Hawaii … I wish I had the money to do that for my parents.

Go to Disney World: One of my favorite trips is Disney.  I really want to take my kids back.  We have not gone in over two years when my parents took us.  The kids have been asking to go back and I would love to take them! I would also love for my parents to be able to go with us.

I would love for you to go to the challenge and link up to tell about your dreams!
Have a very HAPPY Week!
I hope your dreams come true!

Monday Made It ~ 6.22.15

Hello, Friends!
It is Monday and it is time to link up with Tara from

Some, I will be taking with me to Vegas!

I also made these little clips for a future project ... coming soon!
I would love to give this template away as an editable freebie ... what would you like to see on it?
Great thing is that you can add words like: file, grade, etc.

Now for the TpT Swag!

Here is the Tervis Alison added stickers to for me:
The Tervis already had the smiley face so Alison just added our TpT store name and I LOVE it!

The below items are all from Vistaprint:
We designed each one!
Here are our business cards:

This one is my new cell phone case ... I am so excited!

This one is a car magnet ... Thought it was fun!

We also got buttons from Zazzle!

We designed shirts, but the design got changed in production so now we are back to the drawing board....

Sunday Scoop ~ 6.21.15

Hello, Friend!

We are linking up with Teaching Trio for Another "The Sunday Scoop!"
I love getting to know each other this way!
Here is Karen's Sunday Scoop:
Have to ...
1. Today is the day I begin the journey of making an office space that works for me. Which means ... goodbye formal dining that I barely used! I lost my office when I had my youngest 6 years ago ... been officeless ever since.
2. My calendar is a HOT MESS!  I have got to sit down and organize the rest of my summer before it slips by and I get nothing accomplished.  It is so easy to have lazy days when your calendar looks empty.
3. This is my week to focus on what I am going to pack for Vegas. I can not believe that it is coming so fast.  YAHOO! I am very excited but also nervous.

Hope to ...
1. Taking the kids to the pool is something I am going to try and do daily.  As long as the weather permits.  My goal is that they become stronger swimmers this summer.  Kalyn already had gotten better ... she passed her first swim test at the pool!  Way to go KK!
2. Last night I printed and cut all my clip numbers ... part of my "Monday Made It" project.  Gotta get them finished off today!

Happy to ...
Celebrate Father's Day!
My dad is the BEST and I so love him!
He has always been there for me.

Here is my CRAZY husband! He loves the Steelers and he loves the littles!
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
What are you up to?
Karen
