Texas Size Link-Up ~ Back to School

Howdy y'all! The Little Ladybug Shop and I are truly excited as this is our 2nd TEXAS SIZE LINK- UP! Our goal is to host this link-up on the very last Friday of every month! This month we will be sharing #Classroomreveals #backtoschool ideas and #tips to help teachers be successful in the classroom! This month because it is such a super week we are leaving our link-up open from Friday until Sunday! For this #backtoschool linky, We decided to give away one of our NEWEST items!

We believe that making connections with your students is so important!  Every child that enters your door deserves to be welcomed with open arms.  So, we remade an old item that we have used successfully for many years! We greet our kiddos at the door and they choose a handshake, hug, high five, or fist bump!

We hang this tool by the door and they just point to what they want in the morning.

In the past we have also mounted it on the floor and they would just stand on the greeting they desired. How you choose to use it is up to you but the kids LOVE it!

I still have older kids coming by and using the sign in the morning.

Our focus for this post is ... Birthday Celebrations!

No matter how small or how BIG you want to make them it means more than you know to the kids!

Look how happy she is! She can still recall her birthday in kindergarten.
Alison made her day extra special because she had it all planned and organized!

One of the ways we organize our pages for each child's birthday is by printing them all ahead of time and placing them in file folders in the order they will take place.  That way they are ready to just grab and go!  We also put together all of the children's treat bags before school starts.  This saves us from scrambling around on their birthday.

We have collected numerous books over the years about birthdays.  We allow the birthday child to choose the one we will read on their birthday and they also get to take three home for the night in the birthday bag.

Here is the birthday tri-fold I started to create a bulletin board on.

I chose the tri-fold because I thought it might save time putting it up and taking it down each year. We are very limited on our wall space, too.

(I am still playing with it so ... It is not glued down, yet!)
